めだたない色合いの布が、紬の白い色に助けられて、それぞれの柄の良さが引き立ちます。
◆今では手にはいらない古い布を使っています。
古い布には新しい布にはない、時を経た優しさがにじみ出ています。使い込まれた独特の優しい色合いが作品にとけ込んでくれたらと願いつつ針をはこびました。 縁取りのキルト、こつこつと3年もかかってしまいました。
使用した古い和布は友人のお母さまから託された思い出の布で作成しました。
50年前の紬で工房に泥棒が入り、主だった布をごっそり盗まれ、端切れだけしか残っていず、その布を作品作りに生かして欲しいとたくされた布です。
気に入って購入してくださる方に届いたら嬉しいです。

The subdued colors of the fabric are complemented by the white of the tsumugi silk, allowing the beauty of each pattern to stand out. I have used old fabrics that are no longer easily found. These vintage fabrics exude a gentle warmth that can only come from the passage of time. I hoped to incorporate the well-worn, unique color tones of these fabrics into my artwork as I carefully stitched every stitch. It took me three years of dedicated quilting to complete the edging.
The old Japanese fabrics I used hold special memories as they were entrusted to me by a friends mother. They are remnants from tsumugi silk that was stolen by thieves who broke into the workshop fifty years ago. Only scraps were left behind, and it was requested that I incorporate these fabrics into my artwork.
I would be delighted if someone who appreciates it purchases and receives this quilt.
